Who We Are
ChapterZero is Wyatt, Owen, and Shahaab — three childhood friends from Vancouver who grew up on anime.
It started in Owen's basement. That's where we watched our first series, debated our first takes, and fell in love with the stories that shaped how we see the world. Wyatt was hooked by Attack on Titan. Shahaab couldn't stop talking about Avatar: The Last Airbender. Owen stayed up too late watching Death Note. Different entry points, same obsession.
We're all different in a lot of ways — but this is where we overlap. The plot twists, the references, the late-night conversations about which arc was the greatest ever written. Anime brought us together, and it's kept us close ever since.
Why We Started
We wanted to wear what we loved. That's it.
But everything out there was either too loud, too expensive, or too "in your face." The kind of stuff that screams at you from across a room. We wanted something we could wear out — to dinner, to a bar, on a date — and feel good in. Something that carried the story without broadcasting it. Subtle enough that most people would just see a clean shirt, but specific enough that a real fan would stop you and say, "Wait — is that what I think it is?"
That didn't exist. So we made it.
The idea came up one day, and a few days later we started building. No business plan, no investor deck. Just three friends who were tired of settling for merch that didn't represent how we actually wanted to show up in the world.
What We Make
Every ChapterZero design starts with a moment — a scene, a symbol, a detail from a story we love. We strip it down to its essence and build it into something you'd actually want to wear every day. No giant character prints. No walls of text. Just the reference, distilled.
Our tees are made from 100% Supima cotton — premium, soft, and built to last. We care about the shirt as much as the design on it, because wearing something you love should feel as good as it looks.
If you've watched the anime, you'll recognize the design. If you haven't, it's just a great shirt. That's the point.
Why "Chapter Zero"
In manga, the story doesn't start at Chapter 1. It starts at Chapter 0 — the prologue, the origin, the moment before everything begins. It's the foundation that the entire story is built on.
That's what this brand is for us. The starting point. And for the people who wear it, it's a way to carry the stories that matter to them — the ones that changed how they think, what they value, and who they are.
